FairPlate Privacy Policy
The short version: you always pay restaurants directly on their own sites — FairPlate never sees, enters, or stores your card. Most of your data stays on your phone. We don't sell data, and this beta has no ads and no third-party analytics.
What we collect
- Account (optional). If you sign in, we store the email address — and, if Apple or Google shares it, the name — tied to your sign-in. Accounts are managed by our authentication provider (Supabase). Browsing works without an account.
- On your device. Your favorites, delivery-app memberships, saved addresses, settings, and your order history with estimated savings live on your phone. When you're signed in, favorites, memberships, and order history sync to your account so they survive a new phone; saved addresses stay on the device.
- Location (optional). Only if you choose "Use my location," we use your approximate location to find nearby restaurants. We don't build or keep a history of where you've been.
- Order-cost reading (off unless you turn it on). If you enable it, after you place an order the app reads the order total and fees from the restaurant's confirmation page to improve savings estimates — never your name, address, or payment details. You can turn it off anytime in Account.
- Things you send us. Suggestions, local lore, bug reports, and price-check screenshots you choose to submit are reviewed by our team and stored with Google (Sheets / Cloud Storage).
What we never collect
- Card numbers or payment credentials — checkout always happens on the restaurant's own ordering site.
- FairPlate's ordering assistance never enters payment or personal details for you, and it stays out of sign-in and payment pages entirely.
The in-app browser
When you order direct, the restaurant's own ordering page opens in a private in-app browser. Its cookies and site data are cleared when your session ends. What you do on the restaurant's site is governed by that restaurant's own privacy policy.
Services we rely on
Sign in with Apple and Google; Supabase for accounts and synced data; Google for the restaurant ratings shown in the app; and the restaurants' own websites for ordering.
Deleting your data
In the app: Account → Delete my account removes your account and everything synced to it. Data stored only on your phone is removed when you delete the app.
About this beta
FairPlate is in a small invite-led beta. This notice will be revised — including legal review — before any public release, and material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
